Antonio Lorente is a Spain born/London based illustrator I recently came across during my usual internet perusals for inspiration and new artists. I am absolutely heartbroken I couldn’t see at least some of his pieces in person while in London because I just didn’t know about him yet, but now he is definitely one of my favorite contemporary illustrators.
Antonio’s work has a very material feel that makes you almost feel every texture just by looking at his images. You can clearly see his work requires some serious commitment and is not something you can whip out in 10 minutes at your desk.
I love how elaborate his illustrations are because they are the antithesis of all this simplistic stuff I keep seeing everywhere where people think that stick figures + a quote = illustration, which is clearly not the case.
Here you can see his process:
If you like as much as I do, you can find more about him and his work on his website!
