I have to admit that despite not incorporating it in my own work for the longest time, I am kind of obsessed with paper art.
I recently came across Morgana Wallace who (on top of having an AWESOME name!) is probably one of the most talented paper artists at the moment, and definitely one of my all time favourites.
I love how she displays incredible skill both cutting the paper itself with some amazing precision, and also in mixing textures from different kinds of papers in order to achieve great levels of detail and depth.
She also often paints with gouache some of her paper cuts to add even more fine details. This is something I have never done myself since I usually limit myself to paper cuts when I decide to use that technique, but now I’m looking forward to further mixing media in my work.
I hope you enjoyed her work as much as I did, since I’m seriously inspired by it :)
