One very important habit that I picked up while at uni and that I desperately try to maintain now that I’m out, is to regularly look at what other talented artists are doing. Not to compare and get depressed, but to explore new possibilities in media, in color or in whatever other strength they might posses.
If I don’t do that often, I find it too easy to stay in my comfort zone working with tried and true techniques I already know work for me and, well, what’s the fun in that?
