Yelena Bryksenkova is an US-based Russian-illustrator whose work I’ve been loving for several weeks now. She has studied in the US and the Czech Republic, and her work is mostly paintings made with gouache.
What drew me to her work is her amazing use of color, and the inspiration she seems to draw from common daily life with a bit of whimsy sprinkled here and there (a lot like my own work, I guess, so it resonates).
She has a lovely blog, and you can follow her and her work on twitter and facebook.
I am personally in love with several of her illustrations, and considering getting some prints in the near future :)
Tell me what you think? Do you enjoy her work as much as me? What other artists ahem you discovered lately? I’d love to know!
